My husband and I were in town during the Victoria 70.3 Ironman. We were talking to Lauri about having to be up at 3:00 am the morning of RACE day – and not having any access to a kitchen. We told her we just needed a coffee and some toast – even a couple of eggs?
We were really concerned about this.
The day before the race, we saw Lauri in the restaurant. She brought us over a bag. It was filled with a coffee pot, coffee, toaster, bagels and 3 hard-boiled eggs. Lauri had put this together from her home for US! She went out of her way to help us – to help ensure at least that the morning of the race we were fueled.
What a kind, generous and thoughtful person.
